Common Ground Market

Ucluelet is a tiny coastal town of 1,500 people whose economy largely depends on tourism. I came up with this idea at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the closure of in-person markets and a decline in tourism, the makers of the coast were seriously affected. Supported by our local tourism operators, Tourism Ucluelet & Tourism Tofino, this online multi-vendor marketplace is a channel for West Coast makers to reach the large following of devoted tourists who could no longer attend in person markets. It was also an avenue for locals to support local artisans throughout the pandemic.
