King's and Queen's of the Court

TSN, The Sports Network is the official broadcaster of the US Open tennis tournament. To promote their coverage, we took to the one place tennis fans would be; local courts. With the use of 15,000 tennis balls we created murals highlighting the stars, and drama of the tournament.” This was a unique campaign that required a different type of production. Step 1 was to find an affordable location with high visibility. Step 2 was to create a digital grid of each gate, so the design could be tested. Step 3: count the required number of tennis balls and source them from an affordable and time efficient vendor. Step 4 was to recruit students and volunteers who would help with the installation. Step 5 was a 4-day marathon of squeezing tennis balls into the gates with the help of grid markers and print-outs. This project was a labour of love and what was created was truly a unique form of low budget OOH advertising.
